FAQ

You can find the answers to some of the most common questions I get right here on the FAQ page.

What makes working with Completely Fit different?

Every program I create is based on your personal needs, wants and goals. We start with and extensive assessment that looks at how you move and how the nervous system is talking to your muscles. From there I create a program that involves a variety of exercises and techniques that will get you feeling and moving your absolute best.

Why do we do so much breathing work in the beginning?

Breathing is at the center of everything. It doesn't just deliver oxygen to the body. Breathing is one thing we can use to dial into our parasympathetic nervous system (the system the body uses for recovery). Optimal breathing also helps control the internal pressure systems of the body. When we breath optimally the rest of the body including our muscles can work optimally.

I don't understand what you mean by improving my motor control, could you please explain?

Essentially motor control is how the nervous system talks to the musculature system. Think of your brain as the hardware and your muscles as the software. When you have optimal motor control everything is talking to each other the way it is supposed to.

Will we do a lot of traditional core training such as sit ups, crunches and leg lifts?

In terms of what we consider traditional core work the answer is no. You will learn that every exercise we do is working your core in some way. Traditional core exercises such as sit-ups and crunches tend not to respect the alignment of the TPC and therefore not a great exercise for the spine.

I didn't really feel the burn with my last workout, does that mean it didn't work?

Never confuse feeling with effectiveness. This can go both ways. Sometimes what we feeling isn't what should be happening and sometimes when we are doing an exercise not feeling anything is the body's correct response.

With everything we do I will teach you what and when you should be feeling something.

How long will my session last?

The assessment will be your first appointment with a 90 minute window, in case you have questions or would like more feedback. Regular training sessions have a 60 minute window, but not all sessions will last the entire 60 minutes. It just depends where you are and what you are doing in your program.

How can I pay for my Program?

Cash, check, Venmo or credit card. (There is an additional fee associated with the use of a credit card).

Where will I do my training when I work with Completely Fit?

Inside the private Completely Fit studio or in your home or gym if you choose online training.

What will my training program look like?

Your training program will vary depending on your wants, needs and goals. After you go through the assessment I will put together a plan that will address any non-optimal movements found. Your program will typically address flexibility/mobility, corrective work as needed, strength, power and aerobic fitness.

If we find you have other areas that are needed such as balance, speed or specific types of conditioning we will work on those things as well. Your program really is built around your needs, wants and goals.

Will I have homework?

With all programs there will be a small amount of homework. The amount will depend on your goals, time and needs.

How is your Health, Wellness & Nutrition Coaching different from other programs?

This coaching program is all about using your expertise in creating the best program. No one knows you better than yourself. We will work together to create small daily actions that are sustainable and will lead you to your goals. No restrictive diet, no counting calories (unless you want too) no taking away your favorite foods. This program is about discovering what we can add not take away.
