To exercise or not when you are sick is a question I get a lot. And probably with the winter flu season that may be ahead of us probably a good question to address. Ultimately I think it is a question only you and your doctor can clearly answer. However I will be happy to give you my thoughts on the matter.

Do you ever wish you could have a warranty for your body? I know I do. As a kid I was pretty hard on my body parts. I broke my ankle in high school; the day I got my cast off I went home and started running on it. I wanted to be ready for practice the next day. Of course I pay for that little mistake now.

Most of the time when people begin an exercise program they make two crucial mistakes – they workout to often and at to high an intensity. When you first begin your motivation and level of commitment is high, you are willing to do just about anything. After a few sessions the will to exercise drops off a bit and the less effort you put forth and before you know it your done.
