Building a House

0

Have you ever thought about the amount of planning it takes to build a house?  How about the precision, time or effort needed?  Think about the number of weeks it takes to build a house, I mean it doesn’t go up overnight.  What about the blueprints – a licensed or certified expert has to draw those up.  And then, the construction of the house, well the average person wouldn’t know where to begin much less do it all alone.

So, to build a house you need a qualified team of experts.

Well in reality, building a new body is a lot like building a house.  You need:

  • a blueprint
  • qualified experts
  • a team
  • precision
  • time
  • effort

Whether you have 30 pounds to lose or a 100 the above requirements are needed for both jobs.

You Need a Blueprint.  What is it you want to accomplish?  How are you going to get there?   Who is going to be a part of your team?  Do you have the necessary materials?

You Need Qualified Experts.  You would never try to fix your car if you were having engine problems (there are the exceptions), so why are you going to try to rebuild your body on your own?  An exercise program that is written with your needs and wants in mind is going to be much more effective than the generic cookie cutter program you find in a book.  The correct nutrition plan will also need to be designed.  You can’t just follow the latest fad in your favorite magazine.

You Need a Team.  Your friends, family and coworkers need to be on board with your plan.  How are you going to stay on task if you are always being pulled away from your exercise plan and healthy eating habits?

You Need Precision.  Precision is what the experts give you.  Losing weight and becoming healthier are hard tasks to accomplish.  You need programs written that fit your lifestyle and goals (the blueprint).  The experts will help you to understand when to go harder, when to lighten up, when to eat more and when to eat less.  It’s all about precision.

You Need Time.  Everybody has time.  I can’t think of a single person who gets up, goes to work, doesn’t eat all day and comes home to go straight to bed.  Zero time is no excuse.  We make time for the things that are important in our life.  Building a healthier lifestyle will require change, you must allow the healthy habits to become an important part of your day.

Effort.  Effort, how much time and hard working are you willing to put forth?  Nothing worth doing can ever be accomplished without a little effort.  Here you will need to remember the old saying “you reap what you sow”.

Before you jump into your next nutrition and fitness solution think about the necessary components: are your team members assembled, are your experts on board, have you set aside the necessary time, is there precision to your program and are you ready to put in the effort?

If you answered no to any of the above questions either you are not ready to begin or it is not the correct program for you.  Either way, the result will probably not be the one you are looking for.

Stay Motivated,

Karen
