Stress Relief
Are you having a bad day (or week or month)? If so, this is the perfect post for you 5 minute stress relievers to get you through that bad day. Before I get to the tips in case you have forgotten stress can lead to weight gain, heart disease, stroke, chronic headache and sleeplessness to name a few. Second I think it is important to know what stresses you out. There are always going to be the unexpected triggers we can not do anything about, but what about the daily stresses in your life – do you know what they are? For me it really boils down to mechanical issues, when things like my computer do not work right. If you do not know yours take some time to think about them so you are better prepared before they hit.
- Take a 5 minute break and play a game. Most phones, computers and PDA’s have games built right in. Take a couple of minutes and forget about what you are doing and let yourself get caught up in a good Sudoku puzzle or game of solitaire.
- Start a journal writing, drawing or even typing your thoughts can be a great way to take a break and get the negative thoughts out.
- Manage your clock. The better prepared you are for the start of the day, the more smoothly it will run. I try to make a list of all the things I need to get done the next day. I put them in my planner and I let my planner guide my day.
- Stay in touch with old friends. Give them a call or send an email.
- Last but not least my favorite, exercise, it releases the natural feel good hormones. Even if you are at work you can still exercise try my office workout.
Have fun and start reducing your stress today.
Stay Motivated,
Karen
