Agents for Change
You can’t listen to the radio, read a newspaper or watch television right now and not here something about the health care reform the two presidential candidates propose. I know I run the risk of stepping on some one’s toes by talking politics but I think I am safe with this post.
If you know me you know I always talk about fixing the problem at the source, don’t just stick a band-aid on it. For example if my client wants to go on a diet I am going to tell her I oppose. A diet does not fix the problem a total lifestyle make-over does. I mean what happens when the diet is over? Yes, of course she gains the weight right back.
I think we can talk health care reform until we are blue in the face, and make a 101 different changes but all we are doing is putting a band-aid on the bigger problem, obesity and the poor state of health of the American population ( which by the way has now been handed down to our children now).
A better health care system is not the answer. We need a system in place that will help Americans become more healthy.
You can become an Agent for Change. Follow Blogs like this, read your food labels, make your kids get off the coach and go outside (better yet go with them), keep healthy snacks in the house and just become educated on good health practices. You have the power to make a difference but you have to believe it.
Start with you family, and then reach out to your coworkers, your friends and the friends of your children, be an Agent for Change. For the next week I am going to give you something you can do everyday that will help you change the state of health in your household.
Today’s Agent for Change Tip:
Everyone in the house must do this 4 minute quick workout before they can do something quite such as TV time, video games or reading.
- High knee walk/jog in place
- Jumping jacks
- Standing in place squats
- Pushups – kneeling, full or wall
