2008 Olympics
I generally do not sit and watch television all day – but the 2008 Olympics are on. How can you not be inspired by the talent of these athletes? As I watch I always sit and think about the amount of work they put in during the off season. They do more in one day then some people do in a year. They have to train the core, be powerful, have tremendous balance, quickness, agility, strength in every part of their body, extreme stamina, great recovery times and train for their particular event just to name a few.
When I am done watching they make me want to workout a little harder. You too have the ability to break records and make history. They may not be Olympic records but they will be the goals and records you set for yourself. Run a 5k, take a class at your local gym, join a team or learn a brand new sport, the options are endless.
I always tell my kids when they are a little nervous to try something new or different – ”You miss a 100% of the shots you never take.” It is one of my favorite sayings and is actually on the wall were I train my clients. Never be afraid to try something new, if it is important enough to you, you will accomplish it.
Stay Motivated,
Karen
